Writing Projects
Below is a selection of my work as a content writer and editor. Due to confidentiality agreements, I am limited in the level of detail I can provide regarding certain corporate writing projects. However, I have included general descriptions to offer insight into the scope and nature of these engagements.
As a contracted Content Specialist, I created support documents for organizational changes that enabled managers to reference a set of talking points when communicating changes to employees within their building.
The details needed for each set of talking points were gathered from the HR team and would address detailed actions for employees and their managers.
The subject matter had the potential to be emotional and difficult to hear, so it was important to get the details right and schedule the timing carefully for cascaded messages.
The Senior Director of Global People Strategy requested my team’s services to create, edit, proofread, and publish a guide to help managers overseeing supply chain facilities complete required tasks. I led this project due to my background in instructional design.
Action
I researched the company’s policy on the subject and broke it down into easily understandable segments. I used a microlearning approach, which delivers small, easily digestible units focused on specific topics to optimize retention and engagement. I worked with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure accuracy and usability.
Result
After an extensive review and iteration process, I built the guide and published the page using AEM Sites. This resulted in higher engagement and improved manager tasking.
The Director of Global Communications enlisted my services to create a usable toolkit template for ongoing and future projects. The toolkits needed to be generic and customizable. I was assigned three different categories of templates to build. These would be the master templates for those specific categories of projects.
Action
I researched all past projects and used the skeletons of the most recent toolkits to create a generalized list of documents that best suited each category. After the three specialized toolkits were created, I added generic language and fill-in-the-blank options to allow for an easy user experience. Finally, I highlighted the necessary information that subject matter experts would need to plug into each project.
Result
After an extensive review and iteration process, the templates were approved, and the toolkits were built and published using AEM Sites.
